RoP in action

The followers of the Religion of Peace have no problems killing other followers of the same religion. They can do that all they want with each other, but stop doing it to others who do not want to be followers of this suicidal religion!

Iraq: Suicide bomber kills 9 in attack on mosque in Fallujah
Associated Press , THE JERUSALEM POST Aug. 27, 2007

A suicide bomber detonated an explosives belt among worshippers at evening prayers Monday in Fallujah, killing nine people, including the mosque preacher who had been an outspoken opponent of al-Qaida, police said.

Police said 10 people were wounded in the attack, which occurred about 9:30 p.m. at the Raqeeb mosque in the northern part of the city.

The main target was beliebed to be the preacher Abdul Sattar al-Jumaili, whose two sons were also killed. Al-Jumaili had returned to Fallujah from Syria the day before. Police said he often visited Syria because he was on an al-Qaida death list.

Merdeka!

I first read of this news on Little Green Footballs.  The antics of the Pas led government in the state of Kelantan is giving the impression that Malaysia is a backward country.  Kelantan is backward but the rest of the country, where Islam is not choking progress, is not.  But I think it won’t be very long before the rest of the country regresses to the level of Kelantan.  Already the religious police are cracking down on entertainers for their revealing clothing,  rounding up Muslim couples in parks or hotel rooms, and rounding up Muslims in pubs.

Malaysia is celebrating 50 years of independence on August 31, but instead of producing a Bangsa Malaysia (Malaysian race) we have become more deeply entrenched in our various ethnic groups.

Muslims and non-Muslims do not interact as closely as they used to do twenty or thirty years ago.  I think this is a sad development indeed.  And I blame all this on the rise of fundamentalist Islam or the Arabisation of Islam in Malaysia, with the culpability of the coalition government.

The non-Muslim political parties in the coalition are a disgrace.  They roll over and yield to the Muslim led majority in the coalition whenever laws, despite infringing on the Constitution, are passed.  Look at what happened to Lina Joy’s right to practice the religion of her choice.

There is nothing to celebrate on Malaysia’s 50th anniversary.  All the patriotic songs, and the multi-cultural events being showcased during the celebrations are just  elaborate illusions cloaking the deep rooted dissatisfaction among those who feel discriminated upon.  I won’t join the “Merdeka!” chorus this August 31.

Ban the Qur’an?

A Dutch MP suggested that the Qur’an should be banned. The reason? The Qur’an (Koran) is a fascist book which promotes violence and is similar to Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf.

The leader of the Netherlands’ right-wing Freedom Party, Geert Wilders, has called for a ban on the sale and distribution of the Qur’an. He would also outlaw the book’s use in the mosque and at home. Mr Wilders says the Qur’an (Koran) is a fascist book which promotes violence and is similar to Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf.

In a letter-to-the-editor in today’s de Volkskrant newspaper, Wilders argues that the Qur’an should only be permitted for research at an academic level.

However, the MP - who is known for his controversial statements about Islam - says he knows his proposal doesn’t stand a chance of being approved by parliament. His Freedom Party has nine seats in the 150-seat Dutch lower house of parliament.

Geert Wilders says he wants his proposal to serve as a warning to radical Muslims who misuse the Qur’an to justify the use of violence. His statement comes in response to the recent attacks on Ehsan Jami, founder of the Committee for Former Muslims. He says the perpetrators use the Qur’an as an excuse for the attacks. Wilders writes that “The book incites hatred and killing and therefore has no place in our legal order.” The jurist, commentator and co-member of the Committee for Former Muslims, Afshin Ellian also thinks that the Qur’an “possesses extremely violent passages with regard to women, Jews and non-believers”. However, he is against a ban. Mr Ellian says you should take measures against the people who abuse the Qur’an, not the book itself:

“It’s a religious book which of course can be read and discussed. What we really should fight are the radical imams and mosques which use the Qur’an to spread hatred. We must take firmer measures against them.”

Geert Wilders compares the Qur’an with Mein Kampf, which was written by Adolf Hitler in 1924. In his book, Hitler explained his theories about National Socialism, anti-Semitism and the superiority of the Aryan race.

The sale of Mein Kampf is outlawed in the Netherlands, but owning or trading old copies is permitted. However, Mr Wilders’ proposal to ban the Qur’an is more drastic than the ban on Mein Kampf because it would also outlaw the possession of the book.

An American Jihadist

(CNN) — U.S. Embassies and American interests “at home and abroad” are prime targets for terrorist attacks, American al Qaeda member Adam Yahiye Gadahn said in a newly released al Qaeda-produced video.

“We shall continue to target you at home and abroad just as you target us at home and abroad … ,” Gadahn — also known as Azzam the American — says in the video provided to CNN by www.LauraMansfield.com, a Web site that analyzes terrorism.

Later in the video, which is about an hour long and takes the form of a documentary, the self-proclaimed American jihadist makes explicit threats against the United States and U.S. interests, singling out embassies and consulates.

“These spy dens and military command and control centers — from which you plotted your aggression against Afghanistan and Iraq and which still provide vital moral, military, material and logistical support to the crusade — shall continue to be legitimate targets for brave Muslims … until and unless you heed our demands: Stop the crusade and leave the Muslims alone,” he said. Sean Penn Praised by Hugo Chavez

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has praised Sean Penn for his critical stance against the war in Iraq, saying the two chatted by phone and soon plan to meet in person.
Chavez said Penn traveled to Venezuela this week wanting to learn more about the situation in the country and walked around some of Caracas’ poor barrios on his own.

“Welcome to Venezuela, Mr. Penn. What drives him is consciousness, the search for new paths,” Chavez said Wednesday in a televised speech. “He’s one of the greatest opponents of the Iraq invasion.”

There is no dictator that liberal Hollywood types, like Sean Penn, do not like. Especially if the dictator is anti-Bush and anti-Iraq war.

Sean Penn has the right to criticize the Bush administration and whatever he likes in the US and no one will stop him from doing it. That freedom of speech Venezuelans cannot take for granted because a dictator like Chavez will see to it that any opposition to his rule will be quickly shut down. Venezuela’s RCTV knows what it means to allow opposition voices on its broadcast. It’s broadcast license was not renewed.

Sean Penn should know better, but his hatred for Bush has clouded his judgement and instead he sees a soul mate in Chavez who is a fellow Bush hater.
