Sequel to Fitna

Geert Wilders is reported to be planning on making a sequel to Fitna. Despite complaints by various Muslim groups against him, and even charges filed against him in Jordan, Geert Wilders does not seem deterred by the uproar he has raised.

I say, good for him for exercising his right to free speech!

Schism, a pathetic response to Fitna

This, according to MENJ of Critical Thoughts, is the kind of “response” that is needed from Muslims, an intellectual response and not one based on emotion”. Ok, I applaud that call, instead of rioting in the streets and calling for the deaths of whoever has “insulted” Islam!

But to call Schism an “intellectual response”? There is nothing intellectual about the film! Only the gullible, the ill-informed, and the Muslims who desperately need to feel good again after Fitna, might find this movie a good response!

Saeed Al-Saeed said, “It is easy to take parts of any Holy (sic) book that are out of context (sic) and make it sound like the most inhuman book ever written. That is what Geert Wilders did to gather more supporters to his hateful ideology. To create schism.” but his movie still can’t deny the fact that the 9/11 hijackers, the bombers in Spain, London, Bali and Beslan did their heinous crimes because of their religion.

The following are among the last words of Muhammad Atta, one of the 9/11 hijackers.

You should feel complete tranquility, because the time between you and your marriage [in heaven] is very short. Afterwards begins the happy life, where God is satisfied with you, and eternal bliss ‘in the company of the prophets, the companions, the martyrs and the good people, who are all good company’. Ask God for his mercy and be optimistic, because [the Prophet], peace be upon him, used to prefer optimism in all his affairs.

When the confrontation begins, strike like champions who do not want to go back to this world. Shout, ‘Allahu Akbar,’ because this strikes fear in the hearts of the non-believers. God said: ‘Strike above the neck, and strike at all of their extremities.’ Know that the gardens of paradise are waiting for you in all their beauty, and the women of paradise are waiting, calling out, ‘Come hither, friend of God.’ They have dressed in their most beautiful clothing.

Geert Wilders took the verses of the Koran out of context in Fitna? Tell me again.

Videos in response to Fitna

I watched two videos which were produced to counter Geert Wilders’ Fitna. The first video was nothing more than repeating the conspiracy theories of th 9/11 truthers.

The second one called Schism, available on Metacafe, quotes a few Old Testament verses where God told the Jews to kill and annihilate the Amalakites followed by a video of what appeared to be American soldiers and Iraqi soldiers beating up on their prisoners. That video was followed by another video showing a Christian woman declaring “This is war!” to a group of people and an interview of a couple of children from that same group of Christians explaining why they were not afraid to fight this war.

This attempt to equate the Bible passages and certain acts by soldiers in Iraq or Afghanistan and a Christian group’s call to war, is pathetic! First of all there are no Amalekites today, whereas there are still infidels that the Koran teaches to kill. Secondly, how convenient to use an excerpt of a Christian meeting calling the believers to take up their shield and go to war, and taken totally out of context!

Rightly or wrongly the American military is in Iraq and Afghanistan because of the country’s policy on the war on terror. They are not there because they believe they have to annihilate a group of people because God had told them so. If that was the case, Iraq and Afghanistan would have been blown up to smithereens and back to the Stone Age in the early days of the war.

As to the featured Christian group’s call to war, it has nothing to do with going to battle against anybody. Whoever came up with this video thinks that he can mislead ignorant people into thinking that Christians are violent and should be feared. That is so laughable! The battle cry called by Christian group is a battle cry against the “principalities of the air”, the “prince of darkness” etc. The Christian’s journey is a constant battle and struggle against the flesh and against temptations.

Only an ignorant person who is already anti-Christian, and of course the Muslims who needed to feel good again about themselves after being “insulted” by Geert Wilder, would believe that the two films proved that the West and Christians in particular are evil and out to destroy Islam and Muslims.

The one thing that is proven from the barely known production of these two videos (there could be more out there) is that the West and Christians will not riot and kill because they felt insulted or were offended.

That contrast in itself should be cause for reflection.

Iranian NGO Starts Production of ‘Beyond Fitna’

TEHRAN (FNA)- A Non-Governmental Organization in Iran has started production of a documentary called ‘Beyond Fitna’ to respond to far-right Dutch politician Geert Wilders’ provocative dissertation ‘Fitna’.

The Iranian organization called ‘NGO Islam and Christianity’ started production of the documentary after the Dutch lawmaker displayed his movie which urges Muslims to tear out “hate-filled” verses from the Qoran and starts and finishes with an insulting cartoon of Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

The NGO’s documentary called ‘Beyond Fitna’ deals with incitement of violence in the Bible. Muslims believe that the book deemed holy by Christians today is a distorted version of the original Bible.

‘Beyond Fitna’ focuses on the orders given to worldwide Christians in the (distorted version of) Bible for stoking violence, committing genocide, attacking others, beheading and burning women and children who have been taken into captivity.

The documentary recycles film clips from crimes committed by extremist Christians under the inspirations of the said Bible teachings, and aims to provide a response to the allegations made by Pope Benedict XVI, who called Islam a religion of violence after misunderstanding certain Organic verses.

‘Beyond Fitna’ is produced while an overwhelming wave of protest is shown by worldwide Muslim and Christian communities against Wilder’s movie.

Wilders’ provocative dissertation Fitna hit the Internet March 27. Even before the seventeen minute film’s release, protests erupted.

More here.

Responding to the release of Fitna, Mahaguru58, a frequent contributor to Malaysiakini, an online news portal, said he too “can do a tit for tat movie clip showing you all the murders, violence, hate crimes against Muslims of the world and jack up the animosity of my fellow Muslims against the ones irresponsibly trying to stir trouble amongst us the people of the world”.

Mahaguru58, I am still waiting for your video clip. Never mind. The Iranians are doing it. I am waiting for the release of Beyond Fitna, not because I am waiting to see whether I will be offended or not because I know I won’t, but to see if it will be anything like Fitna.

I am waiting to see what verses from the distorted bible they will be quoting and how they are going to relate these verses to the violence committed by Christians in the name of their religion.

You can bet though, that there won’t be any protest in the streets, nor will there be calls for the deaths of the producers of Beyond Fitna for daring to insult the Bible and Christianity. You can also bet that nobody will call for LiveLeak or YouTube or Google to pull the film of their sites and neither will there be anyone threatening the lives of those people who work for these video sharing companies for daring to host the film.

And one other thing, nobody will be calling for the boycott of Iranian goods just because some group in Iran is producing a film called Beyond Fitna.

I am encouraging the Iranian NGO to produce that film quickly before the furore among the Muslims caused by Fitna becomes a dim memory.

Mohd Ali Rustam wants Geert Wilders to apologise

AS the President of the World Assembly of Youth (WAY), President of Gerakan Belia 4B Malaysia (4B) and President of Dunia Melayu Dunia Islam (DMDI), I wish to send out a strong message of protest towards the irresponsible release of the short film Fitna by Dutch film maker, Geert Wilders.

The 110 member countries of WAY, the members of 4B and DMDI are unanimous in recording their feelings of disappointment, disapproval and disgust towards the uncivilized, thoughtless and obstinate action by Geert Wilders in releasing his film, Fitna, which is defamatory and a wholly inaccurate portrayal of Islam despite protests from the international Muslim community.

We are outraged that Geert Wilders has persisted in releasing his film without permission and regard for Muslims and respect for the Holy Quran. Geert Wilders may defend the release of his film as freedom of expression. We strongly assert that Muslims will not and cannot tolerate such abuse towards Islam and such wanton disregard for the feelings of Muslims worldwide.

We further assert that there must be mutual respect, sensitivity and understanding between different religions and Geert Wilders’ irresponsible act clearly does nothing to propagate that. On the contrary, his act has succeeded in creating feelings of hatred and animosity among Muslims towards Western countries.

We immediately demand an apology from Geert Wilders on behalf of all Muslims.

The above is reproduced from Mohd Ali Rustam, the Chief Minister of Melaka’s blog.

He’s angry that Wilders did not ask permission to release his film. He’s angry that Wilders film did not regard the sensitivities of Muslims. He’s angry that the film is defamatory and does not portray Islam accurately. He’s angry that Wilder’s did not heed the protests of Muslims over the film.

So he, on behalf of all Muslims, wants an apology from Geert Wilders?

ROFL! Free Speech Vs Islamic Intolerance. Which do you suppose will Geert Wilders choose?

Wilders doesn’t give a damn what Mohd Ali Rustam wants!
